When some things come together… My tribute to Paul…

Great run this morning, and the great weather rolls on… Went 7.6Km, and kept the pace under 7min/km, but only just… I found out last night about my brother Paul’s passing in Seattle 10 days ago. Will dig into this in the motivation section…

So, as mentioned above, this next one is about my brother Paul… But before we go on to that, the fitness report for Thursday the 19th…

So here are the 2 motivation reports this week…

So, this is all 3 of us, Paul and me just 15 months apart in age. So, we grew up together, John was only little when we both left home, so he didn’t really see either of us growing up…

We really grew up in North Kingstown Rhode Island, and then moved to Moorestown NJ, which was a major change for the both of us. We had funny New England accents, and really didn’t fit in very well. But the toughest thing was my very abusive father. I was the big brother, so I tried to shield him from it as much as possible, but that was pretty difficult. I left home at age 17, as I was able to get out from under it, and went to Colorado. Paul followed 2 years later and lived in there for a couple years before going into the military…

Thankfully he was able to have a few stable years living in Colorado, and then Ft. Knox and then Michigan. And then quite suddenly he just up and left and went to Seattle. Despite all my efforts to contact him, and I did contact him, he didn’t want to be contacted and wanted to be left alone, which I obliged him…

So, Paul passed on the 7th July 2018, at age 62 from Pancreatic Cancer. And now we have had communication from the good woman that he has been with for the last 20 years, Kathy… We can’t wait to meet her, not sure when that will be, but looking forward to it. Most fortunately, Paul’s daughter Maggie was able to see him a year ago, thank God for that…
