When God Orders Your Steps

Day 3

Day 3 is a focus on the Marvellous things God has done and is doing in my life, all those things that certainly can not be put down to coincidence. God wants to pave the way for your greatest blessing, so let Him…

Devotional Point 4 today:

…watching Him just set everything in order…

Scripture 4 today:

“I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭9:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Reflection 4 today:

The ability to praise Him is linked to the truly marvellous things He has done in my life. The problem in the church today is that there isn’t a whole lot of marvellous going on. When there is, you can’t stop praising and thanking and worshipping. As humans we have a natural inclination to talk about the really good things we se and experience, we also have  the flip side to that with the negative. But when we see all the little things adding up to His provision, it consistently gets way out of the realm of coincidence, and you can see and fell His blessing.

Question for the day: What of His blessing did you see today, blessing that unmistakable came from Him? And how best to praise Him for it?

Day 2

This end-of-summer break is a good time to re-look at the incredible power that our Creator has in the world we live in, and our response to it… This is Day 2 of out look at what happens when God orders our steps. When that happens, the sky is literally the limit, as well as the sun, moon and stars…

Devotional Point 4 today:

He can put things in order so that everything goes smoothly

Scripture 4 today:

“So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies. Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day.” ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Reflection 4 today:

This whole story is packed with outrageous miracles, the sun stopping one is used by most atheists to evidence the fact that the Bible could not possibly be true. The only way it could possibly be true is if this enormous God we have did some enormous things of such magnitude that He not only stopped the rotation of the earth for a day, but stopped all the physical effects that would have resulted from that. The backdrop of belief about His ability to order our steps has got to be His total control and authority over the world we live in, He can make anything work…

Question for the day: What have you seen God do that could only be explained as coming from God?

Day 1

Day 1 of “When God Orders your Steps”, fitting for the last weekend of summer, what we call a Bank Holiday here in Europe. All about seeking God first…

Devotional Point 4 today:

When we do things in His strength and power, we’re more effective…

Scripture 4 today:

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Reflection 4 today:

During my life, the word “busy” has only ever been on an upward trajectory. Part of it has been the world pressuring me on a variety of fronts, but mostly it is me pressuring me on a variety of fronts, most of whom came from my driving need to be loved. When you grow up with performance=love, you are busy, because performance takes a lot of busy…  When God cracks through my thick skull with how much He loves me, and He owns the first meaningful part of my day, I’ve learned to only be busy with what he wants me to be busy about

Question for the day:

We live in a world where performance=love & acceptance. How can you get past that and focus on what He wants you to focus on?
