Fitness and Motivation at 20th October

Fitness…

So I haven’t been able to do much running on a consistent basis for the last few weeks, still maintaining at least two runs per week. So, this is really the blog post for the last two weeks…

My friends Mark and Colleen got me into doing Park runs, which for the most part have been really fun. However, I have managed to get myself into a position where I am really focused on the competition aspect of it. Because of that, I found myself moving a lot of things around in my schedule and in my workout to maximise my performance in these five 5K races. So, in doing my own head in I have pushed myself too almost the level of distraction, and the last time I ran I was a minute and a half slower than the previous week, which is just appalling…

Anyway, now I have set aside my concern about competing in these runs on Saturdays even becoming more focused on the actual workouts themselves.

Motivation…

So in the motivation section we’re going to explore a couple of different things this week, actually it’s two weeks. Last weekend I went through this book that you will see in the video from Dr Caroline Leaf called think, learn, succeed… And then, this week the big motivational factor has been focused around this message from Stephen Furtick called what does it matter? Take a look at the YouTube video, it is really good. I posted the link in the bottom…

Here’s the Furtick video
