Kingdom Men Rising

Day 8

Devotional Point 4 today: You are not here just for you. You are here for others.

Scripture 4 today: “He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.” Titus 1:9 NIV

Reflection 4 today: There is a massive difference between understanding the content of information and teaching, and owning that teaching, owning it in your heart. if you don’t own it, you won’t be able to help anyone else with it, and it will be meaningless. God’s plan is to change the world through a world that has been changed. The good news is that your life can be totally changed, if you don’t have it you can’t give it…

Hope you have been challenged by the last 8 days of Kingdom Men Rising, tomorrow we will move on to a short plan by Gruenwald and Nicky Gumbel called “Listening to God in a Time of Crisis”, something incredibly relevant in our crisis filled world… Invites out later today…

Day 7

Devotional Point 4 today: Legacy involves your impact on others.

Scripture 4 today: “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28 NIV

Reflection 4 today: God created an incredible thing when he created us and the rest of the earth and its inhabitants. The only place it went wrong was with our sin. But he made a way around that and His plans are for us to return all of His creation to His plan-here on earth. The better job that we do on that is the better job we do at giving the next generation a chance to do what God wants. The central issue to it all is the issue of time…

Day 6

Day 6 gives us insight to the only possible way we grow and develop in Christ, the Holy Spirit…

Devotional Point 4 today: kingdom men must focus on their spiritual growth and development…

Scripture 4 today: “In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,” Ephesians 1:11 NIV

Reflection 4 today: we are part of a bigger plan as well as a smaller plan. The considerable fortunes of the bigger plan is something that we were born into. The “smaller“ plan is the day-to-day work of the work in spiritual formation. end the foundation of the who is the work of the Holy Spirit inside of us that makes it all possible. We decide every day how much we will allow the Holy Spirit to transform us, a pretty big choice to make, but what else would you want?

Day 5

Day 5 gives us the simple formula for being in distress, however you got there: turn to the Lord…

Devotional Point 4 today: Sometimes it takes a mess to make a miracle.

Scripture 4 today: “But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them.” 2 Chronicles 15:4 NIV

Reflection 4 today: quite a bit of the old Testament is all about the cycles that Israel goes through for following god, then following idols, then experiencing various forms of devastation and the following God again. As with yesterday’s look at Gideon whose father was Chief Baal worshiper, Asa had a similar background. But they did not let the sins of the father affect them. We are called to make a miracle out the the mess of our fathers mistakes, my father’s mistakes tore a family apart and devastated most of them. But following God changes all that…

Day 4

Day 4 shows us that the weakest of the weak can and will be used by God to do the most amazing things…

Devotional Point 4 today: Faithfulness with what you have right now and right where you are is always the first step toward further use in God’s kingdom.

Scripture 4 today: “The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.” Judges 6:16 NIV

Reflection 4 today: Israel was in trouble because it had fallen into the worship of Baal, and God was very unhappy about this, Gideon’s father was the top Baal worshipper. So, he really is the weakest of the weak with a sorry family background, but God picks him anyway. So God picks him anyway, gives him a sign and preps him for the battle. Being weak is the best thing that can happen to you, and God has already picked each of us to do His work, so let’s lift up our chins and get on with it!!!

Day 3

Day 3 shows us where all healing comes from, faith in Jesus…

Devotional Point 4 today: True healing requires your desire, responsibility, and focus.

Scripture 4 today: “Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Acts 3:6 NIV

Reflection 4 today: Kingdom men and women bring healing into the world they live in, all of which happens because of faith. Faith in Jesus Christ nothing else. The power to do this came from Jesus, but the hand that reached out what was Peter’s. Peter and John had real “faith“, it was a real thing, it was something tangible that they knew they had. They were able to “do what Jesus did“, because they had a real thing. When they reached out to offer healing to this guy, they didn’t have their fingers crossed hoping it would happen…

Day 2

Day 2 brings us to a fundamental foundation for Kingdom men to rise, no idols…

Devotional Point 4 today: you align your thoughts, words, and actions under what you value most…

Scripture 4 today: “So I poured out my wrath on them because they had shed blood in the land and because they had defiled it with their idols.” Ezekiel 36:18 NIV

Reflection 4 today: critical problem in the world we live in today, particularly for us men: idol worship. Society has impressed on us that we need to pursue the Idol of money and success and prosperity. It doesn’t care how we get there just that way you do. All of the advertising we see on a daily basis is focused on establishing the legitimacy of the idols and showing us how we best can’t get there. The power we need is based on throwing off the idols of the past and pursuing God…

Day 1

Day 1 of our new series starts us off with what we need to make the Kingdom work: Being strong in the Lord…

Devotional Point 4 today: each man was made to rule under the authority of God…

Scripture 4 today: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflection 4 today: these verses are not addressed specifically to men or women, the same issue applies to both. What is very clear is that the weapons God has given us to combat the evil in the world are things that we need to “put on“. satan is very wise and subtle he is very capable of deceiving us on many different levels. The only way he gets defeated is through the power given us through the Holy Spirit. Kingdom men will rise when they find their strength and armour in the power of the Holy Spirit
