Day 7
Today we finish our series looking at being strong in the Lord…
Devotional Point 4 today: Courageous people are not free from fear they proceed despite the fear and do it anyway.
Scripture 4 today: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10 NIV
Reflection 4 today: because the admonition to be strong in the Lord and his mighty power is fixed so closely to the admonitions about putting on the armour of God, sometimes we get confused. Paul tells us that we simply need to be strong in the Lord and his mighty power, we don’t need to do anything special all we’ve got to do is accept that mighty power through the Holy Spirit to conquer whatever situation we are in. Whether it is anxiety, depression, uncertainty, or anything else; He has the answers.
I hope you have enjoyed these last 7 days focusing on becoming kingdom influencers. Tomorrow we will move onto “fruit of fellowship“. It is a devotional from Grace School of Theology and I think you’ll find it really good. Invites out later today…
Day 6
Today we look at the “golden rule”…
Devotional Point 4 today: In God’s Kingdom everyone is treated with honor, dignity and respect…
Scripture 4 today: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12 NIV
Reflection 4 today: most of us from when we were children have heard the “golden rule“ in many forms from many sources. The difference for us, as believers, is that we have the power of the Holy Spirit inside us to actually make this possible. Without that, nothing happens. Without the power of the Holy Spirit inside you, you may make some valiant efforts in this regard, but they will all come up empty. With the power of the Holy Spirit transformation happens!
Day 5
Today we look at service and serving. How does that work?
Devotional Point 4 today: Servant leaders value the development of people around them…
Scripture 4 today: “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.” John 12:26 NIV
Reflection 4 today: with each passing day, the needs for service and serving in the world we live in get bigger by the day. The paradox is that the question of effective service gets more complicated by the day. If God created us with quite specific talents and abilities, those need to be used in His service. Not just general service (not to in any way dismiss this), but service that specifically employs your specific talents and capabilities. he gave us these things to be specifically used for His Kingdom…
Day 4
Today we look at our status as children of the King and what that means…
Devotional Point 4 today: you have access not only to the King but also his Kingdom…
Scripture 4 today: “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” Romans 8:17 NIV
Reflection 4 today: most of the world we live in spends most of its time either trying to figure out where the next meal is coming from or trying to figure out how they are going to possibly pay their bills this month. We have just as many concerns as everyone else in the world, but the difference for us is that we have a father in heaven who has sent his very spirit to live inside us and to guide us through each and every part of the day to get done what He wants to get done. People see that in us…
Day 3
Devotional Point 4 today: Kingdom-style leadership is about having a vision that centres on people…
Scripture 4 today: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 NIV
Reflection 4 today: Reflection 4 today: Most corporate and company visions are all about profits, growth, and see people as expendable commodities. having a vision entered on people is totally counter cultural. The more we understand this and stick to this, the further we will go in our walks with God and our walks into discipleship, to be His Talidim. This is a fundamental shift in who’s we see people and what we do with them…
Day 2
Today we look at our status as children of the King and what that means…
People see that in us…
Day 1
Today opens a new series where we see the central tenant of leadership, being someone who leaders will follow…
Devotional Point 4 today: if no one follows, they are simply taking a solitary walk…
Scripture 4 today: “but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” Psalms 1:2 NIV
Reflection 4 today: The concept of “meditating day and night“ is something that the church for the last 75 years has wanted to downplay and even delete if they could. This translation of “the law“ means the entire Bible. At the time this was written, the Bible was the Torah, which was something that was memorised cover to cover by all young man. Clearly this does not happen today, but we do have a solution to it which is that we have the entire Bible on the phones we use every day. So why not use it?
