Day 6
Day 5
Day 5 Gives us the baseline we need to serve God: He will meet all of our needs…
Devotional Point 4 today: We may not always have what we want, but we will always have what we need to do His will.
Scripture 4 today: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 NIV
Reflection 4 today: prison in Rome in those days was a pretty nasty experience. Without the help of the Christians around him and the Philippine to giving generously, Paul would not have survived in prison. He had no real knowledge of the “needs“ that he would have by being in prison. he is more aware every day, and is simply speaking about the fact that God’s blessings cascade forward to those who follow Him. He will supply His people’s needs not their greeds…
Day 4
Day 4 gives us the definitive reason for the changes He is making inside us, to be lights that shine in the world we live in…
Devotional Point 4 today: We are not called to exegete Scripture, but to live it before men…
Scripture 4 today: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 NIV
Reflection 4 today: we all have a presence in the world that we live in, that just happens by breathing… Everything that Jesus had to say, as well as the writers of the new Testament was directed to what happens “as you go“. As you go in the world we live and let the light shine from the walk we have with Jesus, let the saltiness of our walk affect everyone we come near, become fishers of men, all of it “as you go”… The light inside us says far more than we could ever come up with words to express…
Day 3
Day 3 gives us the clear direction on our responsibility for hosting the Holy Spirit in our bodies which are the actually real-life temple of Jesus…
Devotional Point 4 today: We express and demonstrate Kingdom culture to the world around us…
Scripture 4 today: “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 NIV
Reflection 4 today: when the apostle Paul uses the phrase “don’t you know“, he is saying something very critically important. This phrase is used 10 times by him and only on what he considered are the most critical issues for people to get through their heads (some like mine are thicker than others…). Not too much has changed in 2,000 years, how we treat our bodies is still urgently important. And out of that in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit comes the presence of the Holy Spirit in group assembling…
Day 2
Day 2 looks at the same verse we looked at 2 weeks ago, and letting go of what holds us back…
Devotional Point 4 today: He looks for faithfulness in the use of what we are given…
Scripture 4 today: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,” Hebrews 12:1 NIV
Reflection 4 today: success for us in the Christian life is about two things: first, the things not to do, and then second things to do. The things not to do essentially break down into two categories: things that are out right sin, and things that are not specifically sin but hinder us from moving forward. In most cases, the things that hinder us most are distractions, distractions we allowed to divert our attention. Satan drags me down by distraction far more than temptation.
Day 1
Day 1 of our new series looks at the concept of Ambassador, we can only do this because we were created to do this…
Devotional Point 4 today: Ambassadors are selected and sent — not elected or by their own…
Scripture 4 today: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 NIV
Reflection 4 today: In the world we live in, there is constant discussion about what is wrong with us, we seem to have this global personal angst about the family we grew up in, our personality score, and all the things that have held us back. But God looks at us and our development quite differently, He does not care what your country or origin is, your family background, or anything else. He lives in the here and now, and all of it to bring us to the place of doing the good works he has for us…
Question for the day: what are the good works He has for you?
