Better Than You Could Imagine

Day 3

Today’s theme is just keep your eyes open…

Devotional Point 4 today: Just have your eyes open…

Scripture 4 today: “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflection 4 today: I love the author’s statement: just keep your eyes open. Unfortunately, we see a lot of “need” today that barely qualifies as actual need it and mostly appears as “want”. Which is obviously why we need to keep our eyes open to actual need as opposed to pathetic laziness. Our economy has reached this place in 2022 where there are way more jobs than there are people to fill them, globally. So income is there for the taking, but we need to keep our eyes open to how we can really help…

Day 2

Today’s devotional looks at the guaranteed best approach for us with all our interactions with others…

Devotional Point 4 today: What your gift is doesn’t matter…

Scripture 4 today: “not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflection 4 today: We who are you humans tend to take any admonishment and make it very event specific. When are hear that we need to do this or that we immediately start applying that to events where we probably need to make some changes it. However Paul is talking about an overall approach, a habit. All events, not just some. Our natural sin nature puts ourselves and out interests first, only total transformation can change that, this isn’t something you can put on. Put in, yes, put on never…

Day 1

Today we start a new series looking at how and why the new life we have in Christ is better than you can imagine…

Devotional Point 4 today: Joy is the journey where the gift and the need collide.

Scripture 4 today: “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Reflection 4 today:  these verses are almost always used in connection with churches asking for your money. That is in fact a very small part of the point. The important part is the giving of your whole and entire life, and the complete overhaul of your life to be with Jesus, be like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. There is nothing special about giving money, there is something incredibly special about giving your time and expertise, the church needs it more than your money…
